A Note From Liz
Hello
Well here we are in summer – we have the summer solstice (21st
June*), Midsummer’s day (24th June) and Wimbledon (23rd June) almost upon
us.
If it’s Wimbledon it must be raining, but whatever the weather
strawberries are on the menu. At the time of writing this I have lots of
green strawberries on my patio. They’ve grown large but with little sun
are reluctant to ripen.
And I love Wimbledon on TV because it’s good for weather
forecasting. As I live just east of Wimbledon I know that when it rains
there it will be here about 20 minutes later. This beats my usual weather
forecasting system which is to look out the window!
So whether the weather is good or bad, a good summer to
you.
Liz
*technically, the solstice this year is one minute to midnight on
June 20th
Feature Article Did Cinderella Have A Good Press
Officer?
I’ve always been biased against Cinderella.
Mainly because I have large feet and would never have fitted into that
glass slipper. But also because I feel that if she were treated that badly
by her sisters she should have left home and set up a cleaning business or
done something a bit more enterprising than sit in the
cinders.
She was obviously a girl who, once she got
into the posh frock, simpered a lot, played on her looks and got the
man.
Not that I begrudge her her fantastic night
out, I’m sure she worked hard and deserved it. But the story does
seem to tell me that women with large feet a) can’t be nice and b) don’t
get the prince.
Many of my clients feel like the ugly
sister and it’s so unfair. They are all lovely. And it’s so easy to feel
that loveliness only comes about if you are slim.
It doesn’t. You are lovely and lovable now.
Every inch of you. Even if you do wish there were fewer
inches.
Once you start believing that and actually
feel lovely inside several things will happen:
Go on. Try it. Be lovely for a day, be
gorgeous, and be fantastic!
Happy eating. Liz
Recommends
Locally grown summer
fruit. My local Waitrose has strawberries grown in Surrey.
They’re a rich dark red colour, bursting with aroma, taste and health.
If you can’t grow your own (or
if your patio is as shady as mine) buy locally sourced fruit (preferably
organic) and enjoy!
About Liz I have
been looking after people’s health for over fifteen
years.
With a background in biochemistry I was initially interested in how
to boost metabolism to promote weight loss and how to feel satisfied after
eating – what the nutritionists call “satiety”. All of these things
are important for weight loss but for many people the biggest change comes
about when they conquer their emotional eating.
I know this because as a child I was stocky, and then became chubby,
then fat! I hated exercise and loved food. And my love of food went way
beyond physical hunger.
I still love food, but now I know how to enjoy and how
to set limits around it – all without feeing deprived.
With a training in coaching and NLP as well as my knowledge of
biochemistry and nutrition, I am ideally placed to solve your problems
with emotional eating.
Liz’s credentials…
And, most importantly, a love of food and a passion for health,
wellness and vitality!

Weight Loss Success Tips Use
the power of ouch!
Got the summer clothes out? Need a larger size than last year? If so, don’t sag back into the elasticated waists and tell yourself
that you’ll always be fat.
Get angry (a little).
Get active (a bit more). Get focused on what you do want rather than what you don’t want. And every time you eat say Ouch! As
in:
“Ouch! Do I really need this extra mouthful (when I know it means an extra inch in the hips).” Think about your own
“ouch” factors and build them into your day, so you can use your “ouch”
energy to shed the fat.
